Voodoo 3 + RT = OK?

by Michael Connol » Sun, 04 Nov 2001 00:10:47

Hi,

I'm running a P500 with a V3,  and would love to try Rally Trophy when
it's released.  Can anyone help with these questions

1. Do I really NEED a cpu upgrade
2. Can I hold on to my V3 (which is working sweetly under GPL)

TIA

Not for RT.

Sure, I run one and had no problems (which is a first for recent games...).

The RT demo runs acceptably enough with a 450/V3 at 1024X768 with all the graphic options at minimum.  But; it FRAPS-out at about
15-25FPS, usually in the high ***s.  Oddly, the FPS is the same from 640X480 to 1280X1024, suggesting a CPU bottleneck.  That seems
strange for a one-car demo, but it DOES run, unlike F1-2001.

My V3 3000 runs it pretty well, but I have a 1.4ghz tbird under the
hood :) Running at 1024 with full detail isn't a problem for  me,
smooth frame rate.

yep, bummer about f1 2001. I'll be getting a GF3 shortly, so I'll be
loving the good life then:D
