Neil won again today by a large 34-second margin over 2nd place (me
again). ZZ Busch and Larry had a number of problems, and I think we
all lost it at least once.
We were done by 1:20pm eastern.
This is pretty damn frustrating - the track was free, a practioce
server was available BY REQUEST all week, and we're running open
setups, no cautions, and moderate damage at these GPL tracks. I fail
to understand why we don't see more people at these races.
BTW, I haven't seen Mitch, Tim, or Brian around the track in a long
while. Where the hell is everyone?

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you
with experience...

I have no one to blame but myself. In my best Michael Waltrip imitation, I
practiced the WRONG track. For some reason, I thought the race was at Roehn
(or however you spell that). I don't know why I thought this.
I spent most of the week rebuilding my Terminal Server so I haven't been on
the forum all week or I would have noticed :)
In the 30 min practice, I managed to get a pretty decent setup done. Mainly
the gearing, steering ratio and grille tape. Other than that, the fast
setup was just fine.
My achille's heal was the last turn. Twice I missed my braking and went off
the track. I SWEAR that sand was more like ice than sand because it sure
felt like you picked up speed once you were in it!
And because of the 1st gear I was running I had a really hard time getting
out of there and lost over a minute just there alone.
One time was my fault (just missed the braking point), and one wasn't. One
of my 100 pound Golden Retrievers crawled under the desk to lye down at my
feet, as usual, and he sat down on my right foot mashing the gas down full
right as I was getting to the braking point for tha turn.
Oh, well. Racing is hazardous :)

That sounds pretty close to the reason I'm late for work is that my dog ate
my alarm clock : )
The correct track was also listed on the schedule page. :)
I still have that clock, a little watch-battery style portable. Tooth marks
and all. I haven't used it in years, but I can't bring myself to toss it
away.
I lost Rusty to Cancer in 1998.
You know how it is:)
Larry
Like I said, no excuses. I just blew it.
