How does one install this track?....it has no installation program with it.
Have LeMans and Daytona...but can I have Hockenheim and eat it too?

Well, for starters, you will have to edit your .ini files in your
seasons directory to include this particular track's details, otherwise
it just won't show up in GPL.  Never had to do this manually, though I'm
sure there's some web sites that would give this info.

Anyway, check your 67season.ini file in your seasons DIR just to get a
basic idea of what it should look like.  Note:  Open using 'notepad'

Peter, this file is just a *.3do file and has no association registered with
windows.
There is no way to expand the file or decompress it. I have no idea what to
do with the data unless it was a file intended to replace another already
existing file in a directory or folder, but this is not the case. I'd really
like to have the hockenheim ring but at this point that is the only file I
can find for download having anything to do with that track. I can't even
find a tutorial on this anywhere.

You may just have an updated part of the track.  Maybe try reloading the
track from:
http://www.dixierunners.speedgeezers.com/Hockenheim/ (there are 4 versions).
It's a zip file with an installer so you dont have to worry about the
season67.ini file.

First thing I thought when I clicked that link was "Oh no...not this place
again!"  LOL
Ask me if I thought about clicking on those covers to download a track. Ask
me if I thought that clicking on a cover would download a cover instead of a
track!
Now I see what he means....

*bonking head against wall*

Oh this is tooo cool...all these choices and flavors.
Ya know, I was only in Grade II elementary when this stuff was really
happening in Europe. When I play this sim, its more than just a race. Its a
friggin time capsule I'm in! I have been hurled back to1967...only knowing
more now than I did then. I remember seeing Denis Hulme and Bruce McLaren
racing in our city back in 1968 at the Can-Am series (Edmonton International
Speedway)---Alberta, Canada. I also re-call holding my newly acquired
silhouette racing hot wheel in my hands the whole time I was at that race.
*Sigh* The memories...the era...and how much time has flown by......thank
you GPL for bringing it all back :-)

hehe. Glad you got it.  Btw there's a really cool night version available at
RSC i think... and guess what- it has 3 or 4 different sky choices too :-)

You're lucky that you had a chance to see even a part of this era.  If it
wasn't for gpl i would have no idea of drivers like Jim Clark and Fangio and
tracks like the mighty nurburgring, spa (the real one ;-), etc.  Just an
incredible sim with an even better community of track builders and modders.
They have really kept this era alive for people like me.  Thanks guys :-)
