Springs for T1 from Thrustmaster

Hello all,

Just would like you to know that I have a Thrustmaster T1 and Thrustmaster
wont send me replacement springs.  They say that they do not manufactur this
product anymore.  OK. Where can I get springs that are better/similar to
Thrustmaster's? Got any ideas on how to make them?

I am not positive, but I think the springs for the T2 might work (I
haven't actually seen the insides of a T2).  Tell tech support your T2
springs need replacing.

Hi Mike,

Now this is not a joke :)

I have replaced my broken T2 brake spring with a wire coat-hanger
spring.  You just wrap a coat hanger around a broom handle -- follow
the direction and number of twists as the original spring.  Of course
you don't want to make the ends come too close or there will not be
enough tension to return the pedal to its upright position.

The coat-hanger works, but is weak compared to the TM stuff;
however, it does return the pedal to an upright position ALL the
time.  It works well enough that I'm not forced to shop around
for parts to make a better spring:

The Better Spring: (As suggested by people who make their
own wheels)  Get some piano wire (possibly #506) and fashion
a spring out of it -- bend it around something.  You can get the
wire at your hobby shop(or music shop?).

Jason.
