Does anyone know of any mail order companies that carry the thrustmaster t1 driving unit.  Otherwise, does anyone know if any vendors in the Milwaukee or
Chicago area carry it.  I've heard references on here to Computer City, but

there aren't any in my area.  Any info will be helpful.  Thanks.

Does anyone know of any mail order companies that carry the
   thrustmaster t1 driving unit.

Several people responded to one of my previous postings about this.
The cheapest price I've found (and I placed the order this week) was
with Computer Express (1-800-228-7449).  They charge $111 + $5
shipping.

Someone also sent me email that said it worked with GPF1.  I didn't
know that and will have to see if my version is compatible.

Several people have posted and said the T1 dramatically improved Indy
Car Racing (hey, isn't that what the Papyrus insert said in the box?
Would they miss lead you --- no!  But their offer of full list price
wasn't very good.).

Considering Papyrus is going to release a NASCAR auto sim, I figured
it was a good time to go ahead and get a T1.  I don't know about the
rest of you, but I have a bunch of flight simulators (F19, F-15, etc)
and other sim's of that type.  I don't play around that much anymore
due to a much busier personal schedule, so I want "quality time" when
I do play.  For me, the Papyrus ICR (and I anticipate the NASCAR sim)
is the only thing I run for entertainment software anymore.  It's just
great!  My wife tried it when I first got it and she said she was
getting motion sick from looking at the screen too long.  Now that
says alot about their animation quality.

I got the NASCAR car set the other day that someone took the time and
trouble to make up.  It is really well done.  I can't wait for the
NASCAR sim.  With the NASCAR car set, I'm getting an early jump on
putting Ernhart into the wall :)

Chips and Bits carries it for 114.00. I was contemplating
ordering one myself this morning.

A while ago there were several posts commenting on the very
aggresive ("manly") velcro that came with the T1 for mounting.

I've found that Radio Shack carries essentially the same thing,
under the name "Superlock Fasteners".  Catalog No. 64-2360.

I got some more and really locked my T1 down.

Personally, I attached the casing of my Thrustmaster Wheel to a 1/2" thick
piece of wood slightly longer than the width of the unit.  I then attach this
contraption to my desk with two deep "c" clamps.  It is a very solid fit.  A
friend of mine uses the velcro and seems to be doing fine, although it does
have a little "give" when he's dealing with a pressure situation.  This does
not happen with my clamps.

For those of you wondering if the Thrustmaster Formula T1 is worth it... YES!!
