T1 Pots (was T1 Springs)

And now for a follow up question...

Are the brake and gas potentiometers the same on the old T1 and the T2?  If no,
can someone give me the specs on the ones that are in the T1's.  The one on my
brake pedal has now decided that it would register nothing but -1 when
calibrated, needless to say it's undrivable now, and I want to replace them
both.  I took one to Radio Shack and the guy had no clue if they had a
replacement or not and I didn't know how many ohms and watts they were rated
for.  Since TM has stopped supporting the T1, I'm kinda stuck in neutral until
I can find a replacement.

Thanks for any info.

I believe that the T2 pots are the same as the T1, and I know they had
T2-compatible pots at Radio Shack as I replaced some for a buddy.  The
shaft on the pot was a little longer, so you'll need to cut about half
of it off.  I don't remember the exact specs on the Radio Shack part
though.  I'd also venture to guess that if you're not getting any
movement in calibration from your brake pedal that you don't have a
bad pot, but you have a wire loose on the pot itself.  I'd double
check all of my connections before attempting to replace the pot.

What makes you think TM is no longer supporting the T1?...They sent me parts
a few (several) months ago. Have you e-mailed them?

Yep.  They say that the T1's are now out of warranty and they will not send out
any parts.

Pots are only a couple of bucks at Radio Shack. I just replaced my
steering pot with a 100K. Works fine. Earlier made my own pedals using
100K pots and junk from the garage. Work great also. Point being don't
worry about what Thrustmaster is doing and visit your local Radio Shack.
