Canopus or Diamond

Hi all,

I know this has probably been covered before, but I would like your
opinion on the following question;  Is there a preference for the
Canopus Pure 3D or Diamond Monster 3D??  My finances will not stretch to
a new Voodoo2 card but would like to get at least a Voodoo1 card and
would like opinions on both.  Thanks

                Mike

Mike,

I love my Pure 3D, I've  played on both cards with comparable systems, and the
extra 2mg  really show. And the price just dropped!

I would agree that for Voodoo1, the Quantum is THE KING of the hill. But
anyhow, Canopus is pretty good too expecially witht eh additional 2mg but,
only selected games can utilise the extra 2mgs. Whereas teh Monster comes
bundled with tons of games for you to start. With the intro of V2, the V1 ahs
came down in price dramatically. I think canopus is a tad bit more expensive.
Hmm....what's my point here?!
If you want TV output and planning to play games like Heavy Gear,
Forsaken etc, that uses teh extra 2mbs then Canopus is the way to go!
Whereas if you migth want to save a few bucks and get a great value V1
and save for V2 later, then the monster is a good bargain.

Hope this helps
