GPL won't multiplay :(

When I select Multiplayer from the menu and hit the big green button, GPL
quits and I get returned to my desktop. This is a little annoying and I
wondered if anyone could help me fix it? I've only had the game a few days
now, and not been able to try the online play - I realise I'd probably be
more trouble than anything in a multiplayer race as my car control isn't
great but still, I wanted to have a look!

I had that problem when I tried to have 2 paralel installations of GPL on
the same partition of a harddrive - I solved it by scrapping one of the
installations
