I hate the letterbox screen !!!!!!!! I want full screen racing like nascar
2 & icr2 . The sense of speed can not touch the speed i get in icr2 at the
converted glen track from N2. Yes i used the GP CAR  . The control does'nt
seem to be as precise as their other sims . I use a t2 & adjusted all the
steering options . Some of the spins seem canned . The locking of the tires
is cool under braking . I am just not that impressed with the physics model
while driving . Maybe i need to drive it more to get the hang of it but the
more i drive it the more i hate it ( not the other way around ) I know this
is a alpha but IMO it has a longggggg way to go. If nascar 3 is this hard
to get around the track then i'll stick with the games papy made before
sierra ruined them . ( except for nascar 2 :) My system is a p166 48 megs &
a thriller 3d . Put me in a real gp car on the grass & i bet i can get back
on the track alot faster than i can in this f#$%ing sim :) I know alot of
people like this demo so have fun .

Uumm, I think the reason it is hard is that these cars were VERY hard to drive.
What is the challenge you are having in the grass? As long as I don't flloor
it, I can get out of the grass just fine. Just go easy on the pedal. Obviously
if I  max out the accelerator, the car will simply spin all over the place in
the grass, which is pretty realistic!! Back to having fun, now!!

I hope you don't plan on racing outside the car if and whenever this gets on
line. You'll also never get that real sense of speed from outside the car.

Hmm, I must say I noticed the same. I thought that maybe I'm just a
bad driver, but it seemed I constantly got into spins which I couldn't
countersteer at all, and I really mean at all. Not like in F1RS or
Nascar2 for example. Were the racing cars of sixties really that bad?
:) Couldn't believe a Papyrus sim would have canned spins.
GP2 has them too, fortunately F1RS doesn't. But no sticky grass in GPL
though. :)

I was wrong about the grass . I did a few more laps  & started to like it a
little more. My #1 problem with GPL is the letterbox view & FPS . Hopefully
it will improve !!

I really LOVE the letterbox style.......reminds me so much of the movie

Agree  ! the control is not as bad as i made it sound . ( it's not xcar
type control :) The spins are frustrating ! It slides sidways then
backwards into fences,hay bails and then the engine explodes :) How slow do
i need to be going before i can drive it in the corner ?

but people sulking about pathetic things like this do provide a lot of
amu***t for me when i read your posts. thanks for the entertainment:)

I want full screen view period !!! I drive from behind the car not the
***pit ! I like the full sceen view in icr2 & nascar2 ! Whats amusing
about that jaggoff ? That letter box view reminds me of that ***game
called gp2 :)

The replays are better at michigan in nascar 1 than nascar2.

Know why?  The view is bigger.

There is so much feel when driving. Be *gentle*, and use the throttle to
steer.
You are going to have a seriouse problem when NASCAR3 comes out...

That's exactly it. The part I've missed from N2. If you go into a turn,
and YANK the wheel left, the car would have spun wildly. You can go down
the straights at Talladega, and quickly turn from lock to lock. The car
twitches a bit. Real? Nope:))I saw a Papy statement on N3 somewhere,
stating that it would be so much more difficult to drive...I can't wait
for it!!
And, I don't think there are any "canned" spins in GPL...IMO
