SODA - Controller Help Needed!!!

by markgam » Fri, 07 Apr 2000 04:00:00

After leaving it sit in my closet for a couple of years, I decided to
install and run SODA Off-road Racing. No problems with the install or
getting it to run, but a big problem with the controller selection. I am
using an old Thrustmaster T2, with no TSR active. SODA accepts my option
selections (defining the axes for left, right, gas and brake) as "joystick
2". This also shows on the calibration screen, where the inputs for joystick
one stay at zero, while my manipulations of my wheel and pedals show up as
inputs on joystick two. But when I race, it doesn't respond at all, leading
me to think that the game engine is expecting inputs on joystick one.

Can anyone help??? I'll be very sad if I can't get this little gem to work.

Ah yes, if all else fails, RTFM. The special instructions for the T2 are
right in there. Silly me ;-)

As a thanks to all those SODA fans who did drop by, I have posted my
favorite home made track at the following URL:

http://personal.lig.bellsouth.net/lig/m/a/markdez/Double_XX_V20.zip

It's an odd beast, 2.5 miles with fast straights, two killer uphill left
turns, both of which lead towards jumps. The trickiest part is the
transition from flat to hill at gate eight, followed by an uphill left turn.
You need to keep up your speed, because the following jump is LONG...
