CMR2 - saving a game?

Hey CMR racers

I am running the championship mode in order to "unlock" the different
tracks.
In Championship mode, when I want to quit for the night,  how do I save the
game so when I go into the next day it picks up where I left off???????

can't save in the middle of a race..have to finish till the next service
stop..
