Hi

For those who has both games,
how do you rate them against each other ?

I have Motoracer2 but definitely not the NFS 3 of the motobikes
which I was hoping for.
It is too arcade for me.

I'd say more along the lines of between Viper Racing and GPL. :)

Don't be an ass, gesh.  I never said it was too darn easy, I just said it
lay somewhere between GPL and Viper Racing.  Even if you could, I don't
think I could within the first 2 hours with all graphics, sound, simulation
options turned on, default setup, go from back of the pack (32? drivers) to
win at Monza in 3 laps in GPL. :)  Thats not a knock either, just a
fact...love the game!

Does there have to be?  No.

I think by saying that this is the "GPL of bike sims" it was meant
that this is the top of the line, most realistic bike sim available,
just as GPL is the top of the line, most realistic auto sim available.
I don't think that he meant that Superbike is comparable to "GPL with
motorcycles" as you are possibly interpreting it.

Wait for the free AMA Superbike game to come out. I bet thats gonna blow
away EA's game.

Why do you say that? Have you had a chance to try the AMA game?

Yes sort of, I cant exactly remember the details but there there will be a
online downloadable full version of the game. Dont quote me but I think it
will have a monthly fee if you want to play multiplayer with it. I hope one
of the Motorsim guys reads this and can explain exactly what the deal was. It
was stated in a post in this newsgroup a month or so ago.

Motoracer is arcade. Superbike is both. The action setting of Superbike
is fun but the basic physics of motorcyle racing still apply. The
simulation mode is hard core, especially if your run the game in real
mode with all the help turned off.

The game will come in two versions - the full-on boxed game (with printed
manuals, AI riders to race against, and a "career" kind of thing), and the
free downloadable online version which will have everything but the 3 things
I just mentioned. The boxed game is, of course, online-ready. You will also
be able to purchase the entire online version (incl. all tracks, art,
sounds, bikes, etc.) on a CD for the cost of pressing and shipping it - to
save yourself a pile of download time (these track databases are huge).

As to pricing for the online, well, it won't be "free" ... but it will be
very reasonable - and AMA members will get special discounts. With the depth
of different kinds of online events that will be available on our system, I
think folks will see the value of having an account with us. Obviously we
can't divulge everything we're planning yet - I really wish I could spill
the beans on some of the things we're lining up. But folks should be aware
that there will be enough depth to the online community on motorsims.com to
justify charging people anything at all to play there.

Thanks for the update. What's the timeline looking like, when will
this thing be available?

We're targeting online beta for "spring" and the boxed release for "summer",
the online final release would be somewhere in between those two dates.

Sounds good. The EA game should keep me busy until then.
