In other words, would I be making a grave mistake using Eagle gearing
with the Lotus (or any other chassis)?

For example:
The Eagle can pull 10000 RPM, whereas the Lotus kan only pull 9000 RPM
(or thereabouts).
This means that your gearing will be either too short, or too long
depending on what gearing you're copying to what car.
Try using a Honda/Murasama gearing (Max 10900 RPM), in a Brabham (max
8200 RPM), would get you into all sorts of trouble :-)

I had to fiddle the gears a little bit to suit my driving style, and camber
a bit too, as the car weights are different, but it worked fine, I finished
3rd :)
