Can Somebody who actually has a final version of the game please tell me
whether it is at all possible to have a wet race in GP2. I am very
confused by this.
                                    Thanks,

Hi Oliver!

I checked out the german version of GP2 and I did not find any
weather-options. I think a wet race is not possible. I am very
disappointed about that.

I guess it's going to be added in a patch that is yet to come.

While poking around in the game's menus (to tired to race after all those
***y exams -> 1.22 at interlagos, now that sucks!!!) I didn't see the
option to have a wet race for the "quick race".

Then I decided to check the g2.exe (some 5.7 MBytes) to see if there is
option for the language (german translation isn't that bad - but "heisse
Runde" for a hotlap - naaahh!). No luck - everything is German (the
version of my copy is 1.00b, BTW). BUT !!! Guess what I found:

"Nasses Wetter / Sie muessen mit einem nassen Rennen rechnen / Nasses
Renen / Wollen Sie Ihre Fahrzeug-Einstellungen aendern?"

which rougly translates to:

"Wet weather / A wet race is to be expected / Wet Race / Do you wish to
change the car setup?"

So I think there are two possibilites. Either wet races only happen in a
championship season - or they will be "activated" by a patch yet to come,
just like modem play was to be added to GP1 later on (God, I was exited
when I got that disk from Microprose - me & friends used to play on
386/33's in those days!).

Anyway - the game is great & I'm even more of a backmarker in the wet -
so no hurry!

Happy racing, David

Hey David Rupilius !
You burnt somethin' into my screen !

Yeah, found it too !
How about writing to Microprose how it is ???

Wow , that was a high end machine in those days !

Have you had any problems with the gears or the electronics up to now ?
I'm driving the McLaren and it's a real electronic problem itself !
