There has been some talk that there will be a GP2 addon or patch that
will have weather effects as well as 1996 drivers and maybe even network
racing.
Cheers.

You and everyone else is missing the rain mate!!.
***y networks missing too !!!
Having followed GP racing for the last god knows how many years (I have
been to every British GP since 1977) I cannot recall a season, where at
least one GP was not a wet race. And Mr Crammond lives in Britain too, so
he should know what rain is all about or Perhaps he lives in a
greenhouse??

>just of a wet race i don't think so, the wet race menu options are in
>gp2 they just didn't have time but they will do it and they have to do a
>patch and 96 update but all this will come so everybody stop arguing
>about whats not in it and play it its the best f1 sim game in the world

>the wet race options just get yourself a hex editor and edit the gp2.exe
>file and search for the word wet youll see all the options they made.
And before people jump up and down on me here is a list of the things they
could not be bothered to have ready for the beta release.
1) Unrealistic pit stops
2) Weather changes
3) car reactions seem a little 'fixed'
4) If you run into a wall at full speed, there is a good chance you will avoid
any damage to the car!
5) Graphic bugs
6) HELLO!! It's 1996! The game was released in 1996! Why the fruck do you give
us 1994 stats!!! What happened to 1995? Oh it's in the patch version..
There are others.
Basically, what they should have done is release a shareware/demo version on
one of those PC magazines on those demo CD-roms. Just one track or so, and let
those of us who had been*** out since September 1995 for 'something'. No!
Geoff is too finicky they said. He wants it PERFECT! And then they release a
sub standard version. The only thing perfect about Geoff is his thinking. This
way he gets paid twice for the one game. Let's all praise the Geoff.
Remember, they set the goal posts, they set the time, and they failed to
deliver. First it was delayed by up to 8 months, and then when it was
released, it was not the all singing all perfect game that the Microprose PR
team had promised.
Basically, if I was a business, and MICRPOROSE had given me a tender promising
the moon and then delivering bad pictures of the moon, I would be obliged to
sue them. But Microprose reckons it can get away with this kind of shit all
the time. After all, it's only a game.

Errrr.....I've been really enjoying the good bits.
All sorts of other games - Papyrus sims for instance - are like
this.....ICR2's only became driveable a month or so back!
Yeah - it's not perfect - it's easy to pick holes - but it's damn good!
Lets face it - no-one made you buy it in the first place, and no-one's
making you play it now!
ENJOY it!!! (for what it is!)
Cheers!

Is somebody forcing you to download a patch/buy a new version? Have
you been threatened that if you don`t get it *** things will happen
to you? I don`t think so. You have a choice if you buy any upgrades.
If this was the thinking then it is hardly smart, pretty stupid
actually. If a company gets a rep. for supplying sub-standard
products why will people ever go back to them in the future?
1)Yup, unrealistic. But this is not a bug, it is a programmers
choice.
2)They should have been in and it is a shame that they aren`t.
3)I`m not entirely sure what you mean by this but the way my car
handles is governed by my controls and my set up, and there is a lot I
can do to alter it.
4)See the response to 1)
5)There are some graphics bugs but I`m yet to hear of a programmer who
can make a piece of software run perfectly on every single P.C.
6)You see there`s this little man called Bernie Ecclestone who sold
Microprose the rights to the 94 season, not the 96 one. If Microprose
use 96 cars, colours, names etc they get sued from here to kingdom
come.

So the question I have is, when did the F1GP2 team realise that weather was
not avialiable and why was there no offical statement prior to release in
regards to what was left in and what was left out? BTW I did get the erratae
in the box mentioning that weather was not implemented. Problem here is, to
read this, I had to open the box. And to open the box, I had to open it. And
to open it, I had to pay someone money.
Microprose delayed the release of the game not once, not twice, but three
times and over a 8-10 month period. Okay so there is no rain. But why so many
bugs? Didn't the testers drive any of the cars? Or did they ASSUME these would
be fixed in the release version?
Incorrect here Mark. I payed money for a product that I was told had been held
back so as to make the game as complete and as bug free as possible. I ask
you.. do you think the game is bug free?
Because, the people buying games is getting bigger all the time! More home
computers being sold etc to people who believe that what is on the outside of
the box has a reflection of what is in the box. Further, Microprose does not
care! In two, three years, a whole bunch of 16 year olds will herald a whole
new generation of people to rip off! Individually, we have no say. As a class
action, we can sue the pants off them!
Agreed, but the game had been delayed by months. And if you believe that
Microprose have no intention of a F1GP3, then think again! And I wonder if
this will have the 1994 players, or the carsets for currently drivers which
they recently negotiated the rights for?
