Please help me with NASCAR demo!

I downloaded the demo and followed the instructions (create NASDEMO then
unzip using -d). I tried to run the demo and I got the main menu, but
when I presed enter on preseason racing, the option turned gray and nothing
happened, same thing happens to every other option. Please help me, I'm
worried if I get the complete game same thing will happen. Thanks to
everyone who replies!
