? Can anyone tell me how you can brake using the keyboard without
? locking the wheels (making smoke) ???

When the wheels start to lock-up, tap at 'Z' very quickly,
I find it very effective.

Cheers,

        Liam.

It is almost impossible :-)
But, sometimes I manage to, you have to start braking (always pressing
the key) then when you get slower you release it and just brake gently
by pressing the key several times.

How about inventing an analogue keyboard?

How 'bout using an analogue joystick or a wheel? :-) I can't remember the
last time I drove my (real) car with the keyboard.

Try using digital-ABS (antiblocking system): brake hard until you reach
third or second gear, this may change with your particular gear ratio,
and then, before you lock the wheels, push and release very fast the
brake key in a repetitive sequence until you reach the desired final
speed.

I can't decide whether I actually brake any faster or not using 'anti
lock' methods, any comment?  I think it does tend to conserve tires
significantly though.

Reeaallyy carefully, I go tap, tap-tap, hold-the brake......it helps to
fiddle with the brake balance in setup too.
