And don't forget the upcoming Officially Licenced " Mike Mulligan and his
Steamshovel" product, for those that are into the truely classic age.

SoD1937 did work very well once you got your controller properly
configured -- so good, in fact, that I actually ordered the full
version.  Still waiting for Software First to deliver, though.  :-(

Speaking of oldies, has everybody completely forgotten about "Need For
Dirt: Backhoe Unleashed"????  NFDBU was a TON of fun with a highly
underrated physics model -- I've still got it installed, and I
occasionally run laps just for fun.  GREAT sim!

Drop that bucket once you've reached 100+ mph and you would throw up some
serious rooster tails, chicken bones, and whatever else was buried in your
path :)

Hasbro's ill-fated Backhoe!

When Backhoe! was released, it won high praise for its graphics (some
say the best in the biz), but a faulty survey sytem coupled with
unrealistic hydraulics proved to be too much for their lack of funding
an interest in continuing in the genre.

They also immediately cancelled their upcoming Steamroller! without
notice, leaving many fans in the dust.

Check out Tonka "Dig'n Rigs" by Hasbro-Interactive.  My 3 year old loves it.
Even comes with a steering wheel and throttle.  Very Cool.  :)

BTW, I'm not joking.

Too true John, could quite easily end up being just another Backhoe
precision digging

wasnt there a bulldozer in the original simcity.  you could clear
forests & destroy roads and stuff.

never liked simcity versions after that so don't know if they have
added more similar vehicles.

there, a truly helpful answer :)

*grin*

btw, thanks for all the in-jokes.  r.a.s. is getting funnier by the
day.  its nice to see we don't have anally retented folk swatting the
offtopic wickedness :)

hey dave h, didn't Papyrus start a Backhoe sim and then the lead
programmer was abducted or something?  Personally, i think Ford bought
the rights to the game to prevent competition to ford simulator...

mmmm.  the thick plottens.

regards all,
ian

But it will STILL sell better than BHL(Backhoe Legends).  People just aren't
interested in historical construction equipment.  I bet BHL is a finacial flop.
At the very least, it will outsell Swamp Buggy Racing...
