My backup lives on a floppy... though it has to be compressed to fit these
days.

So do a backup/restore.  When my drive crashed last fall, that was the ONE
thing I had backed up.  I was able to continue on the new drive without missing
a beat.
I've only been running Quicken for about 5-6 years, but such a spending graph
might be interesting.
"I spent *how* much on fast food?!?

Drive Image or Ghost are easy safe and reliable Dave.  Almost cant go wrong.
I burn an original onto CDs and keep the active copy on old HDs.

I *knew* it...  I only have data back to Jan 2000.  But in that time, I've
spent 10 times more on fast food than I have on fitness.  Those categories just
happened to be right next to each other... :-(

I'm lucky, I don't need to consult Quicken to know what I spent on both
in the last 10 years... the answer is nothing. But then the less you spend
on fast food, the less you need to spend on burning it off ;-)

NO fast food in the past 10 years?  I'm impressed - I couldn't do that.

It's like any bad habit, easy to break if you want to. The trick is
wanting to :-)

I wouldn't be that impressed Eldred.  Not eating fast food isn't going
to make you fit.  Only exercise will do that.

Maybe not *fit*, but not eating fast food improves the chance of you
maintaining a healthy weight.  I can admit that, even though I can't do it in
practice...

I get eight hours of exercise every night at work. No breaks, nothing to
eat, just work. Fitness isn't a problem, sanity might be though ;-)

That's my experience anyway. There's so much wonderful (in terms of
pleasure if not always healthy nutrition) food out there wherever you
look, and the immediate pleasure we get from it is very ***ive. I'm not
immune, I just prefer to indulge in occasional chocolate chip cookies (ok
whole packets of ;-) instead of burgers & fries and takeaways. If I do eat
unhealthily it's at home where I at least have to make the effort to
prepare it.

Of course if I had kids I'm sure I'd be dragged down McDonalds etc by the
marketing hype just like every other browbeaten parent who's sworn never
to take their kids anywhere near the darned places :-)

Now you sure that's not more of a contribution to your lack of any
additional pounds than your not eating fast foods?   :)

I eat what I want, when I want, but ensure I don't gain any extra pounds
by regular exercise.
