The game/sim is based on the 1994 season, and the cars are modelled on
the cars for that season.
So yes, there is a difference in each cars performance, and each drivers
performance.
But bear in mind the fact that the opposition cars standards can be set
via the drive options menu, so how you set this, eg:- 1994, random, all
the same, will affect the game/sim.
Also bear in mind that some of the newer editors/updates, have patches
included in the programs to update the car/driver performance levels. So
if you are using, say, a 1997 update patch/program for GP2, it may also
have a patch included which alters the car and driver standards to also
match 1997.
I have reached approximately 208mph for Monza and for Hockenheim, This
was achieved by altering the cars set-up only, not by using editors or
patches.
However, if you do use some of the editors which are now available, you
can alter the cars power, (bhp), to give it much more acceleration and
power, and therefore increase top speed.
I'm sure others out there have obtained higher speeds?
