Even though Marshall Teague died in a horrific IndyCar crash at 180 MPH in
1959, it is safer with all that downforce.  It would still keep it on the
ground.  Besides, the car that Marshall drove had faulty aerodynamics.
Try to notifiy CART so that we can see some new racing at Daytona
Speedweeks.  Besides, it gets fun to see drivers beat a world record in
closed-circuit driving regularly.

I disagree completely with your safety "analysis." Ground effects only
work right if the ride height of the car can be controlled within a
certain window. If the car deviates greatly from the design ride
height, it's not even clear that a CART car would have positive
downforce. (Anyone remember the Group C fiascos of years ago when the
ride height would momentarily get too high?)

Dayonta is simply too fast, too banked, and too bumpy to contemplate
running CART cars. I love speed and e***ment as much as the next
guy, but I certainly want to keep the drivers alive and well, as well
as avoid seeing fans being killed by errant cars/debris from open
wheel contact at Daytona...

As a side note, for safety reasons, I don't imagine a CART driver
worth a damn would agree to drive at Daytona. (Of course, I've been
wrong before...)

Daytona is too fast for CARTs. Track is also too bumpy and too banked. But
the main reason is that they have some drivers' named Greg Moore and those
Eagles car (no offense, just a fact) who likes to block other drivers.

Me again...  I have to say, since I tested Taladega with 6 fuel load in
ICR2, maybe it's okay.  Just repave Daytona, use the super-downforce wings
from the road courses and shortovals, use soft tires, and that kind of
stuff.  However there are many ways to slow the IndyCars down.  Lower the
boost, increase the gear ratios, increase downforce, use good shock
absorbers, and more.  Daytona would be perfect if this could happen.  I'd
like to see a CART expert on this, or even Cart!!!
