This is a good Idea, HOWEVER, This is only a good Idea for those that live near Boston.

I would gladly attend, and boston is only maby ten hours drive for me, but then 10
hours=alot of miles wich = alot of gas/ the stay there meens hotl bills wich = some
money wich would equal an empty wallet for the trip home. All for what? You mention
nothing on any idea for what would be availible there.

You might want to mention some kind of activity or a cause for the convention.

Like I said "It is a good Idea, but, what would we all do there.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but "cause for the convention?"
HAWAII! What else do you need? Since I live in Nebraska (which is
longer than ten hours), I'm not familiar with Boston. But it seems
there should be plenty to do. Maybe they have a Malibu Grand Prix
center that we could show off our real driving talents.  <G> Or see a
baseball game.  Who knows, maybe Papyrus will show up and run a few
races. Remember, this is just to see if there is enough interest in
organizing some type of gathering. A place where we can discuss
strategies in person with good food, plenty of beer, and free Hawaii
racin'.  Can anyone in Boston gives us more info on what to do, or see
there?

I'm sure the influx of visitors to Boston using the Hawaii service
(for extended periods of time thanks to the local number) would do
wonders for the load on the race servers.

<once again,we have a big place called the Show Me Center for the
convention and several motels, restaurants and a go-cart track with
faster carts than most places (30 mph on a good track, its a road course
but ive been pushing a banked oval idea across the owner!)in Cape
Girardeau,MO,let me know what you think, its in the middle of USA,good
location.

<Sigh>
It must be r.a.s. Gotta be. Does the whinning from other threads
procreate to all other threads?  To answer your question. NO. As you
know, the majority of the racing being done on Hawaii is during the
evening/late evening or weekends because of cheaper long distance
rates. A convention is usually run during the DAYTIME. Besides Hawaii
is in BETA test to see if the servers can handle the load, etc.
Again, I asked for other ideas from local Bostonians for excursions,
etc. But it appears there's not enough interest, simply whines, so
I'll let the idea pass, and hope Papyrus decides to sponsor a
convention at the unveiling of the NRL. Thanks to all who posted
suggestions, and I hope to see you on Hawaii!

Sounds like fun, but the point of having a gathering in Boston was to
eliminate long distance charges incurred when dialing Hawaii. (Boston)

Why? Just because we want to spend several hundred dollars traveling clear across the
country to spend the weekend shut up in a motel convention room breathing second hand
smoke, listening to a bunch of drunks yelling *** at each other and arguing over
which track to drive next, in order to save $5.40 an hour in long distance charges?

code + number) for .10/minute ANYTIME (24/7) for $5.00/month with the "DimeLine". This is not a commercial or
anything, I don't know anyone in either of these companies, I'm just sharing what I know. Chuck Stuart, how do
you get .09/minute?

>>>SNIP>>>Lets see...

if I have 10c/minute * 60 = $6.00/hour
If I get   9c/minute * 60 = $5.40/hour
100 hours per month of HAWAII = $600.00 or $540.00!

"Hey Honey I can save us $60.00 per month!
Wow thats $720.00 per year!":-o

Her reply
"Wow that's great?.... how can you do that?...
...Hey how much is that costing anyway???":-o
oops

There is a company called EXCEL which sells long distance via word of
mouth advertising.  9cents/ min let me know if you want info.
Sorry for the sales pitch..

Its simple, sign up for a sprint Business account and spend a minimum of
200 dollars per month on a month- to- month contract and pay 14.7 cents
per min all day, every day except on fridays which are scott free.  I
race 8-10 hours or more every friday.  Why take a vacation and go to MA?
Just trade work on Fridays for work on Sundays.  Mean while, when I'm
not racing on fridays, I broadcast fax from my list of sales
prospects-FREE !
Hope this helps,

If I may correct you on that line about Sprint, (I recently switched
over) Sprint informed me that after a year, I will get a 10% rebate on
my LD bills, which resolves itself to $.09/minute.

(Switch to sprint!  They gave me 100 free minutes!)
