Are we nuts?

A friend and I were recently discussing how much fun we've had racing
on Hawaii, and the large phone bills involved, and  came across a
rather disturbing idea. Since summer is the time for vacations, namely
ROAD TRIPS, we discussed heading out from our hometown of Omaha, NE to
catch a Winston Cup race. We couldn't decide on a particular race, so
I mentioned why not all of them?(minus a few :( ) The stupified look I
received made me laugh. Why not pack up the computer equipment,
driving wheels, etc. and drive to Boston? Yes, that's right, Boston,
MA. Land of local telephone calls to multiplayer Nascar Racing! I
figure it'd take 2-3 days driving time each way, rent two hotel
rooms(gotta have two phone lines), and spend LARGE amounts of time
racing. The money we'd save in local phone calls versus LD could pay
for the trip! Are we truly insane?

Who knows, maybe Papyrus will let us visit their offices! <G>

Okay, we're all officially out of control now.  This does sound like a
great idea though.  Can you imagine a convention center hall full of
NASCAR ***s racing together like this?  We probably wouldn't have
to worry about simulating injuries after someone  takes out half the
field at 'Dega, it'd be just like Michael Waltrip and Lake Speed at
the Michigan race last year.  Wonder if Ed Martin would be willing to
come by and issue those famous words "Gentlemen, start your
simulators".  Just make sure there are plenty of ashtrays and beer
coolers.

when?  You selling our vitals to shrinks? (g)

You realize that I have informed all the LD carriers that I am taking bids on
the contract?  the 1st one that offers me blanket 8 cents a minute, no signup
fee and a new car gets the account! (vbg)

Easy. Explain that you're actually SAVING money by making local calls
in Boston vs. long distance. I'm hoping it'll work for me! <G>

Out of control? NEVER!
But this convention is even a better idea! Ok, now to come up with a
convention name! <G> Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot! <G> It took you guys this long to figure it out?

Gotta admit the convention idea sounds like a winner though. Would
Papyrus be willing to throw in a  copy of Nascar 2 to the winner (me,
of course) when available? It'd be a great way to promote Hawaii and
the NRL. <G>

From what I've seen from posts about multi-player racing, at least it'll give you
guys a chance to beat each other up when theres another multi-car pile up on the pace
lap.  :-)
