as a living benchmark, I wondered if we couldn't design a new GPL handicap
system: the EldredRank.
The EldredRank would be the Gplrank for the GPL layman.
Some of us cannot bother to spend hours to learn every inch of a track. We
prefer to dash around in wild leaps, like mad colts prancing from sandpits
to armcos, from armcos to grass strips, from grass strips to sandpits. Yes,
we slowpokes love to watch the scenery, and speed is not our only goal. Yes,
we are slow, but we slide off the track with *style*!
Enough rambling talk, let's get to practical issues.
The EldredRank would be computed with a very simple mathematic formula:
your EldredRank=(your GPLRank)-(Eldred's GPLRank)
This way, many more GPL drivers would be able to reach a negative handicap.
And more important, St Eldred would always have the glorious handicap of
0.0.
Maybe Uwe Schuerkamp (lead GPLRank director) could help us in this grand
project.
Cheers,
Cyrille Vanlerberghe
