1. Better sound, If you have ever stood beside a Winston Cup car and
heard it run, you know what I mean, it will make your  spine tingle when
they
rev up. I live in Alabama and have been to a few races at dega and lucky
enough to get to go though the pits and stand beside the cars and drivers.

2. Clutch,  Like GPL would love to be able to keep the thing reved up in
the pits or when spinning.

3. Hand signals, would love in mulitplayer to see some hand  signals.

The movie looks great, maybe by some chance they will get it out at least a
little
early, keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks

How about having the race start from the pits and you have to literally
drive to your position for the pace lap (do they announce the racer's
name, number, or team?). I imagine that's how it really starts (I've never
attended a NASCAR race).  Of course I have never played N3, so I do not
know if N3 starts this way, or the game dumps you already in position with
the pace lap already started.

It can be quite tedious, but if the drivers do it, so should we.  :)

BTW, is the pace car in N3 indestructible?  I don't think I managed to
thrash the p.c. at all in ICR2.

4.  Dedicated Linux server (hosting).  No Game... just a daemon to
host online races.  Quake 2/3 has this.

Excellent!  One can also (hopefully) use the dedicated server on his/her
private network to provide three other computers the information to serve
as the driver's left, right, and gearbox camera view.  I just hope
Papy/Sierra is not gonna force us to buy separate CD(s) for use on the
dedicated server and on computers intended strictly for camera viewing.

4.  Split times - I'd love to know if I really did nail turns 1 and 2 at
Indy without having to possibly taint the results of the lap going through 3
and 4.

Spygirl?!?! could it be adapted for N4?

Or any of the other great utilities many people have made for GPL

Actually the dedicated server would be completely text only.  So the
graphics wouldn't be all that great :P

BTW I do also hope that a Linux host for online *** would be a free
download.  It would make the game very popular to play online and easy
to run a host.

This is where a Ghost car during practice would be Awesome.

Nascar Heat will have one, I sure hope N4 does also

I never said the dedicated server will be displaying graphics.  Read my post again.

When I play Q3 and connect onto a dedicated Linux server, do I play Q3 in text? No.

The server exists to provide clients the data of the game objects currently participating.
If as a dedicated server, it can also be used to offload processing of data which otherwise
could have put a lot of strain on one that acted as both a client and a server.  For
example playing on a machine with 20+ bots (Q3A) severely taxes the framerate, but a dedicated
server could be handling the 20+ bots, offloading all of that stress from the player who is
on the other machine.  Maybe Papy should do this.  A dedicated server on a private network can
do all or most of the AI, while the player/client only has to worry about the rendering, and
maybe the network connection if not on a LAN.  Maybe then there would be not much of a problem
of trying to play against 32 AI players on a single player race.

I think I may have rambled off a bit.  :)

I've wished that GPL had this too.  I've had many laps that I've screwed up in
the last corner or two, and wondered how close I was to a PB, or whatever...<g>
