It's a licensing thing. He didn't want to sign a release allowing
developers to use his name in the game.
Like anyone would CHOOSE to drive Villeneuve anyway :-)

He is a big***head and he thinks he's too good to be in a sim game. Luckely
for him he isnt in the games otherwise he would be our crashtest dummie.

Jacques Villeneuve, his name, figure and portrait are licensed, and it costs
a very high price to get his name under licensing for a racing game.  So the

Note to all that even his Dad had the same thing. It's a thing that was
ALWAYS in the Villeneuve family since 20years.

This must have been before he freaked out and died his hair.
Now he looks like a Batman supervillan (joker & riddler mix).

He demanded extra money for the usage of his name, as he had just won
1997 WC. Ubisoft didn't comply, thus Driver X in F1RS. I would guess
the same applies to Psygnosis/F1'97.

What I heard, is that at the time he wasn't in the same driver
association
as all the other guys and this caused problems with licensing.

I heard Byron met up with  a crazed Charles Mak who bashed him to death
with a CD containing a copy of the GPL demo while screaming "ITS NOT REAL
ITS NOT REAL".
Charles has since been sentenced to a lifetime of driving GP2 with all the
helps on.
