Ok, it's obvious 99% of the people on this newsgroup hate CPR.  BUT, it's the
BEST championship car (formally known as "indycars") sim to emerge for it's
first time on the market.  Maybe papyrus should take a close look at it for
CART3.  Microsoft actually paid attention to car detail adding the "fin" behind
the pop-off valve and the side pods.  The sounds are awesome too and so is the
animated pit crew.  It's still VERY obvious that this game NEEDS some vast
improvements such as adding full contorl in the pits, yellow flags, realistic
crash damage, and probably most of all BETTER AI; not to mention graphics
adjustment.  The list goes on, but what do you expect from a 1st time CART game
made by a company who's only other driving game was Monster Truck Madness?

Oh GOD NO!!!!!  Papyrus....PLEASE ignore this suggestion!!

Whoopee! Those details really made the game run beautifully, didn't they?!

I expect something similar to what Ubi Soft managed to do with F1RS.

Just because it is their first racing "sim" is no excuse for such poor AI and
gameplay. If Ubisoft can make an excellant racing sim their first time with F1Rs,
so should Microsoft/TR.

Ok Bruce, you don't know obviously don't know ***about CART PR or CART
racing.

It's not Mircosoft's fault you have a crappy computer.  Try running it on
something else besides a P90.

I wasn't talking about game play you dumbass.  Graphics and car detail.

Calling somebody a dumbass is actually immature, but...

you probably never saw Icr2-Rendition.   Heh tell me Papyrus can't make good
graphics.  Oh yeah tell me after seeing GP-Legends they can't make accurate
car details. Can you say different models depending on the team you are....

CPR is a great sim.  Have anyone tried to setup the cars.  You'll need to
setup a car for each track.  Just like a Real Racing car.  I do have to be
fair and say that the cars are very undrivable  in their default setups.
You can't expect to just jump in and do great laps.

Oh dear.....another 16 year-old!
My vocabulary-challenged friend, I probably have forgotten more about CART
racing/F1 racing than you'll ever learn.
As for CPR, I gave it the benefit of the doubt.  In fact, I installed it three
times....the last with the patch.  It was installed on a P233 MMX + 3DFX +128Mb
RAM.  I can honestly say that I certainly wanted to like the game but found it
lacking in most areas that I consider important.

Now to your comment about "not talking about gameplay...", which you finished
by referring to my posterior being speech-challenged:-
Might I suggest that you *state* what you are talking about?  You see, we are
not all endowed with psychic powers.

Be that as it may....and here I'm making allowances for the fact that you may
possibly be suffering from some mental deficiency (or you have the I.Q. of a
bunch of celery)....my personal preference insofar as simulations are concerned
does not include CPR.  Perhaps our friends at MS will learn from this abortive
attempt to provide "the best" racing simulation and will beaver away
quietly....like Ubi Soft, for example.

For me....I'll wait patiently until the leaders of this genre (Papyrus)
produce, in turn, GPL, N3 and CART2.

If your concentration has held out to this point, I thank you for reading this
response.  You can go outside and play now.

Just me or do the cars in CPR look too bubbly or something?

Actually it's the ONLY sim of Championship Cars to emerge on the
market for the first time. If you expand that to include all former
"Indycars", I recall Indy500 being a lot better quality and more
revolutionary at the time.

Yep, gotta love the detail on that animated pit crew :-0  It almost
makes one forget how horrible it is to drive. That's the one aspect of
"attention to detail" that was forgotten.

Monster Truck Madness with CART graphics would have been nice. It was
fleet of foot and responsive to drive. I enjoyed it a lot - AND it had
no yellow flags ;-)

Cheers!
John

Yeah, gotta love those setup options. Especially the speed
sensitivity, linear and dead zone, hehehehehe. I'm just hopeless at
setups I guess :((((((((((((

Yeah and you have to love how the "detailed" pit crew is composed of cart
officials. I wonder if they are faster than the real crews, also do they have the
real fuel man out walking around to make sure all of the rules aren't broken?
