I'd have to say that http://rdvr.btwracing.com would be your best bet
Has anyone had any luck getting Viper Racing to work properly under Win2K?
It loads fine, but the sounds is really choppy and tends to stutter a lot.

Viper Racing?

Hey Thom, I picked up SBK 2001 and I really like it.  All the same things
that were great in SBK 2000 are a notch better in SBK 2001, like the
graphics and tracks.  Drives very nice with all the help options turned off.
Also really like the wet weather effects, very convincing.  I think I found
why the SBK 2001 demo was running slow, it was the 'real shadows' option,
which i've turned off, so I'm getting good framerates with plenty of AI
bikes.  And of course, the replays load fine, unlike SBK 2000.
:)

(Viper Racing is fun btw, but I don't know any good sites for it, so can't
help there)

Viper Racing?

Fun game, but only one real car and no real tracks.  And some really
wierd hacks that you can turn on.  But good physics and excellent FF
though.  You can really feel what overweight and overpowered pigs these
cars are.  A nice diversion, but not really in the same category as GPL,
SBK2001, or even SCGT, IMO.  If you've got the disk space and you're
bored it's not bad, but frankly I took it off my hard drive after about
a month, just didn't sustain my interest.

Simon I am glad you like SBK2001. I have liked all of them if they
would have made F1CS2K with these programmers they would of
had a winner!! "O" well that is old news now.. :)  Also I think you
will enjoy SBK2001 more as you really get into it.. Have fun!
-Thom_j.
"O" yea, no biggy on Viper Racing. I bought it cuz it was cheap.

I can't believe that no-one's mentioned Viper's career mode.

It's one of a kind and ***y brilliant!

You start off in the lowest class with next to no money, and you have to do
well to get more money to buy better bits for your car. If you do well
enough through the season you get promoted to the next class up, where
you're allowed to do more mods to the car. You end up with a real beast!

Nope, sorry.  I gave up on 3D PC *** two years ago. (I'm a PS2 gamer)
I just built a smokin' 1.4GHz Athlon/Radeon 64MB DDR system, but haven't
gotten around to installig Windoze yet; maybe this weekend.  When I do,
I will most certainly install VR again.

That's all the input you need at $4.95 :)

It's an excellent simulator.

This is NOT fixed under Windows XP, unfortunately :(

At least it installs.  I could never even get it installed under 2K.

Isn't there a Win98 compatibility mode you can set for each piece of
software.  It's in the properties I think.
