I tried GPMan again last night (Yeah I know, I'm a ***) and
have these hints for a good qualifying position.
1. Make sure you're running the correct wing position (Your designer
in the external screen may be able to help you).
2. Any new additions to the car must have been tested (I once drove for six
races until I remembered to test one part. Always had an engine failure
around round 49).
3. If you're driving five laps, put seven litres of fuel on board, four laps
six litres.
4. Make sure you've given the order 'step on it' to the drivers. Increase it
a bit more by upping the three bars (Unless you've got a rookie, they spin off).
5. Some people use banned items during qualifying. Remember to take them off
before the race.
6. You can take off some driving aids that aren't performance enhancing, but
I haven't found any discernable improvements (Nice sentence).
If you do fail to get a position you think you deserve (in other words, you
know your car is quicker than those immediately in front) let the first
pit stop be taken at the end of your fuel capacity. So if your tank can last
for 28 rounds, fill it up and plan the stop at the latest possible moment.
the other cars will usually pit before you do and then you can tell your
driver to step on it whenever he has a clear road ahead. Don't run out of
petrol though. I qualified 22nd and won the race using these tactics.
The patch I used seemed to cause some problems (understatement of the day).
Does anyone know when the latest patch was released?
Cheers!
