How can you kill something that has already died?

Ah, the old "The publisher knows how to program better than the original
author" trick.

GC is a ***, my cat could code more efficiently than him.

Hahahahaha this is beyond the state of "pathetivity".  Basically, Geoff
Crammond doesn't want his software have any kind of evolution.  Well it just
proves what we already knew <G>

Seems to me that this is true, I think that no matter what is wrong with his
wares, he refuses to have anything to do with a patch, as if a patch would
be an admission that there was something wrong with his "perfect" Sim.
Instead of looking at the issues objectively, eg, why can't GPL2, 3, 4, be
played successfully via modem, internet, etc, and yet Papy allows this to
happen extremely well, even with a 33.6K Modem.Ok lets look at their code
and see how they have done it. No, his style is this, my way is the only
way, and my code cannot be improved. That attitude has led him to where he
is now.
Look at the Contrast that you see from the LFS Guys.
Their theory is, OK lets write a very flexible, basic Sim engine, put it out
there, and let the Sim community have all the input into the development of
it.
OK they say that the Force feedback sucks with a LWFF Wheel, lets fix it, a
few days later they release a patch....5 other problems have been fixed
along with it.
If I had the nous to write my own sim, ( which I don't ) I know which one of
the 2 formats that I would follow.
I see LFS as developing into something really big. Especially if they
concentrate on developing Open Wheelers, F1 and Indy, with very few ovals.
(hint hint) :-)

Exactly, it has led to his idiosyncratic and flawed code being used for the
past 15 years now.  15 years in the *** industry!!

It's impossible to comprehend how somebody can be pro-Crammond, after all
that has happened.

But you know, I can understand Crammond.  The guy simply doesn't want to
code all this stuff again.  He's a millionaire, why would he stop being
lazy?  The cash still goes into his pocket.  He's a lazy SOB, who's using
the gamer's poor knowledge for his own purpose.

He uses SOME of the gamers knowledge............but not many of  the hard
core SIMers knowledge...........
With the possible exception of Mike Beachamp.....but that isn't Mike's
fault....cos you can't really say too much bad about somebody when you are
having a physical relationship with them. ;-)
