Don't you mean the 2.53 version of the glide2x.dll.  I have never heard
of anybody having to move the .ovl file to the GPL directory.  ???

I keep seeing this claim and I just have to say that I am running my Monster
Voodoo II  with Diamonds ver. 2.07 drivers and DX6 without any problems.
On some systems it works!

DirectX 6 was the biggest improvement in frame rate performance I have
seen to date.  Viper Racing, in my case, jumped from some 43-44 fps to
53-54 fps.

I installed 6.1 via Windows 98 'Windows  Update' system when it hit
their servers.  In the process, I _lost_ 2-3 fps.

So far, I think the straight DirectX version 6.0 is the best performing
version.,

Now, if only someone would figure out a way to remove the .1 part :)
