Colin McRae Rally 2.0: good, bad, or ugly?

I missed CMR2 when it first came out, so when I found it in the EB
Bargain Bin, I had to get it. The problem is it came with NO
instructions
at all, but then, I guess it doesn't need much.

It took me a couple attempts to figure how how to map joystick and
keyboard to control the car together, but it's working how.

I was trying the arcade mode, and boy, is this thing hard! Even on
novice, the computer whipped my **** period. It took me a couple
attempts to figure out how to beat the computer AI cars... You have
to drive like Ridge Racer!

Rally is a bit more fun, and the visual damage is pretty good. Graphics
are not spectacular, but certainly better than CMR1 and matches its
contemporaries. Not quite Rallisport Challenge, but still decent, and it
plays fine on an obsolete machine too.

Best option... the minimum install takes only SIX MEGS TOTAL. How
many games can say that?

Any one know cheatcodes that works on the PC version? (Didn't test
the PSX codes) or how to unlock the other rally country stages? Do I
just need to try the championship? I tried challenges (basically
imitation
of ROC) and had no problem winning against all the AI guys.

In Championshipm you need to get within 6 places to move on to the
next rally.  Try that in novice to clear all rallys.

codes:
I found these 2 useful.......

All cars - ALLTHEBUTTONS
All tracks - GREATNEWS

the rest of them....I never use.
Aggressive cars - NUTTYNETS
Background music - TURNONTHEICE
Bouncer mode - BOINGBOINGBOING
Reverse tracks - WAVEYOURLEFTS
Escort MK1 car - MORRISMODE
Faster cars - GOFASTERSTRIPES
Ford Puma car - GARYWILDASS
Lancer Road car - EVILEVO
Mini Cooper S car - MINIME
Monster tires - WHEELYBIG
Shining cars - SHINYBUTTONS
Turbo boost - CURRYFORME
Reduced gravity - BOUNCYBOUNCYBOUNCY
Unlock all options - LETMEWIN
Press Handbrake to release a fireball arcade only - EATTHIS

And...
If you want to have some REAL fun, go invest some money on a good FF
wheel.  I have a MOMO...it feels very nice, and you will never want to
drive without it ever again.  (that is the bad part about getting a
good FFwheel.)

For me, CMR2 kept me entertained and challenged for nearly 2 years
now.  I bought and want to move up to Rally Trophy but want to at
least finish a Expert Championship round first.  But that is pretty
hard...for me.

have fun

I wish that you would search a little harder to appreciate what you
are getting.  And that you reply to the thread instead of creating a
new one.

Anyway..
Go create a new driver.
the3 character name is not important.
and key in the codes in the following screen...
When you enter, it will not store it as a new driver.
when you come out to drive in either Arcade or Rally, the cheat should
go into effect.

I only use the all cars and tracks once.....
So play with it.
