Actually two strange problems.

1. I am using a "weird" version of NFS3 and the EA update stuff
(autopatcher) and the new cars will not work because they say that the game
is not installed

2. whenever I try to play over the modem, it crashes. I go to connect
players, then choose modem and whever I choose either call or answer the
game says connecting and computer freezes completely.

any ideas?
