Can anyone tell me if NFS plays well over a modem, can you play it in svga,
Me and a friend both have p133 and 33.600 modems, but we only have one
copy of NFS, but if it is a good modem game we would purchase  another

Thankyou

Hi,
I have NFS SE and it runs very well over the modem. You should turn off
the music and you may have to turn down the detail but with your systems
it should be fine.

Have Fun! :-)

NFS definitely slows down during modem play, but your system should be
more than up to the task. If you can get it going, its an awful lot of
fun -- I'm particular to the road courses, where you can try and box
your opponent into traffic.

I have had problems connecting NFS through a modem. Does anyone know of
similar problems or a patch or something that may help this along?

Thankyou, your help would be appreciated

I have also found NFS rather disappointing wrt modem play. Much like GP2,
there seems to be a small but noticeable time delay between control inputs
and regsitering the results on the screen. While I would like to be able to
put this down to repeated bad phone lines, I think that's a little hopeful.

For the record, this is using the only speed option (9600) on 28.8k modems,
between two adequately powered computers (P90 and P133, not that processor
speed is the problem here I would imagine).

Error correction/compression were off, as suggested.

Cheers,
Dan

Same thing here! I am trying to run a serial connection... steering was just way
too delayed...it was not playable.
I tried editing the modem.cfg and changed the speed from 9600 to 57600 ...still
no chnage!

BTW, does anyone play this game??? I see barely any posts about it... where does one
get help around here?
