hiatus from sims. When i pick OpenGL the screen flickers like crazy. Can
anybody sugest what to do? Also I used to have a link to a site that was
reduing all the cars, can someone point me to that site?
Thanks.
Thanks.

WHY bother with opengl anymore? The differences between dx9 and opengl
are not that great...and dx9 can certainly do things opengl cannot.
just curious..

I'm guessing Open GL is still a big hit with the anti-Microsoft folk...
For car updates go here: www.gplea.com
For screen flicker I'm guessing you mean the refresh rate? Depending on
your graphics card there are various fixes to the Win2k/XP 60Hz bug, I
use rivatuner with my nVidia card but there are Ati solutions too. This
isn't a problem with gpl, it's a problem with Windows.
If you are talking about the image being distorted in-car could you
describe the problem in a little more detail & tell us some of your
system specs? Graphics Card, OS etc.
Malc.
Nothing to do with Microsoft, I don't get the font corruption or
'melting menus' (with AA) in OpenGL. It allows me to run gpl in a window
too in a way that suits my needs.

Sorry make that: http://gplea.racesimcentral.com/

HTH,
Kendt
Dave, GPL has absolutely zero features from anything beyond DX7, so DX9 is a
pretty ridiculous statement to make about GPL. nVidia cards are known to
run faster in OpenGL, in pretty much all the Papy titles, and with teh
correct settings, the video quality should be virtually identical.

I guess I want it all, I run 1600x1200 with 8x Aniso & 4xAA ;-)
I found my old Gf4200 would run36fps at 1152x864 with 4xAA or 1600x1200
with no AA, my Gf5900 runs 36fps with the above settings fairly
comfortably. CPU is an XP3000.
Some graphics cards will throw a hissy fit in OpenGL but be fine in D3D.
nVidia cards will generally work better in OpenGL with gpl, but it's
subjective.

true true about dx7 and GPL. But I figured just about everyone would
be up to dx9 by now...
:) I guess that could be another question...!! lol
