GPL Please help me getting to run - again.

I am having trouble getting GPL to run.  I had it running, but went out
and got a second 12 meg CL Voodoo 2 to run in SLI.  I formatted my hard
drive and did a clean install of Win 98.  GPL locks (beyond recovery- have
to turn off computer) when the wheel calibration screen comes up.  I can
remove my TM Nascar Pro in the controlers panel( in Windows) and run GPL
just fine, but I want my wheel to work.

My system:
Asus P2L97
P2 333
128 meg
Diamond Stealth 2 G460
2 12 meg CL Voodoo 2 - SLI
Win 98
Nascar Pro wheel - with TM pro panel driver
Latest 3dfx DX6 drivers

Everything worked before I got the 2nd Voodoo 2 card and reinstalled
Windows.

    Please Help - Thanks.

Forgot to mention I have a Soundblaster AWE gold as my game port.  I
updated to the latest drivers for it and thought I had the problem solved.
BUT the game now randomly locks up at the wheel calibration screen if I am
using direct input - not every time but sometimes.  AND I was training and
on the start of about my third lap the screen froze but the sound kept
going - I crashed of course.  Is this a common occurence?
Thanks for any help I can get!!

Sounds like it might be a DirectX problem.  Try re-installing DirectX 5
(don't bother with 6 unless you need it for game).  Also you may want to
try unchecking "poll with interrupts" in the Games Controller applet.

One other thing, it is possible to use your wheel in GPL via generic if
you have no device entered for Win95/8 (generic polls the gameport
directly not via DirectX).
