Please help to install GPL again!

Recently I bought a Sony Vaio computer RX302  Pentium 4     1.8GHZ

256 DDR RAM    SiS650 chipset (motherboard)

I kept my Geforce 3  TI500  graphic card (Hercules Prophet III)

I made a dual boot system (XP and Windows 98 SE)

I installed GPL again under Windows 98 and now the 3D patch doesn,t work

Has anybody ideas or suggestions?

Please help!

The first thing I would try is to update my video card drivers, assuming
that you have the latest GPL patch and such.

Wondering also why you didn't install GPL on your XP partition?  I find XP
to be a much better platform for *** than 98 or ME.

Oh right, you're the guy that thinks only 1% of games don't run on XP. I
couldn't run GPL on XP uisng NTFS, ran fine on Win98 though <shrug> And
some games will run faster on Win98 and other's on XP so there is no ONE
better ver. of windows for games. I'm only running XP right now because I
got fed up with managing three OS's on the same PC.

Dude, I can only speak from experience.  So far I've had one game not run on
XP-- Indy II for Windows.  And if I cared to get that one to work I'd be
able to with a little time.  I installed GPL and had no problems running it
on XP.

I agree, for the most part, that no one OS is the best for running games.
But overall XP (IMHO) is the best overall.  I mean, how many times do you
find yourself forced to reboot with Win98?  I can go months without ever
having to reboot, using XP.  It is obvious to most that XP is the most
stable Windows OS to date.

Now if you're the kind that has virus programs and other ***always running
in the background, I doubt any OS is going to be stable, let alone XP.

Do you have Indexing turned off?  I nearly went crazy one night when GPL did
all kinds of weird things.  I was checking something on the system and had
shut Indexing off.  Turned it on in Windows XP, and didn't even reboot.  GPL
runs fine here on XP Pro (NTFS).

I was an early XP adopter and I turned off indexing which is why GPL
wouldn't work. Indexing takes up resources.

I reboot evertime I'm playing games on XP (unless mp) because I have
created a 2nd hardware profile that stops a ton of services from
loading and eating up memory and resources. Rebooting is no big deal
to me if it means trouble free ***.

Well, you should have those running in the background when connected
to the internet. That's why I have two profiles, which requires a
reboot. One is minimal resources and the other loads all my networking
services along with autoscan of incoming/outgoing email and
anti-malicious script blocking software.

Yea, I had it turned off, and still do. But now I'm using FAT32 so
won't have that problem. This was back when XP was first released
so no one knew at the time what the problem was. There are other games
that have problems with XP though, not racing sims.
