Get the darn 1.1 patch to work! i want to race properly!

Tired of the "slo-mo-speed-up", no lap times, warps etc etc
I just want to race Gpl online like i did before, pls anyone, make me
happy and come up with an easy fix to the 1.1 patch problem(s)
tried the patch core.ini, Alisons core.ini, did some experimenting, no
luck

Gpl 1.0 36 fps solid
       1.1 offline 37 fps solid
       1.1 online 5-50 fps

192 mb Ram
V 2 sli
SBlive
MS FF
28.8 modem   (worked really well with gpl 1.0)

Any Suggestions?

H'mmm, I must admit I am having the same problem.... most on-line races I
get the slow, slow (driving through treacle affect), then it goes like the
clappers, like twice normal speed!  I invariably get disco'ed then!!!

128MB
SBlive
Voodoo3 3K
36fps (solid most of the time, although I have now witnessed 36+ fps !!)
Analogue wheeel (homebrew)
56kb modem....
GPL (UK) + v1.1

I  have also tried AH's new core.ini..... it seems to have no affect on
the timing problem!

I prefered the old 1.0 way of 'keeping real time', If you got a clock
smash or warping.... at least it was in 'real time', this slow, slow....
quick, quick is not very nice..... Must admit the 1.1 patch works fine
off-line and I like the Voodoo3 fix..... I appreciate the effort Randy and
the team have made with the 1.1 patch and I hope this timing thing is not
just because they have to make 'overtures' to FF...... if so, lets dump FF
and get back to where we were before the 1.1 timing mess!
VROC 2 looks and works much better.... hopefully these are just teething
troubles and will be resolved shortly..... if not, well I don't know....
on-line racing with GPL  is not usable for me at the moment.... :(

While my system runs 1.1 "okay" ( I get FPS fluctuations online, but not
severly) - I did experience GPL going incredibly fast when I first tried it on
my new computer months ago. I just installed win 98, and GPL was running at 50
FPS all the time. I went back to win95 for a while, everything okay. Later I
went back to 98, and everything was normal! Hmmm....just came to think of
that!
