Doe's any one use this joystick with SCGT?

I've been trying to run SCGT again and when I use this stick it works
fine for about 3 minutes then I lose communication between the stick and
game for about 5 seconds causing my car to continue to go whichever
direction the stick was, when comm was lost, EG; Wide open straight
ahead or continuing whatever turn you might be making at the time. After
5 secs or so you regain control but the damage is done by then.

If anyone has seen this before I'd appreciate hearing about it and also
would like to find a controller that will work with this game, HAS TO BE
USB though as I want this for my laptop mainly and it has no gameport.

Please don't say "buy a wheel" I'm already stuck with one I can't use
and don't plan to get another - The "OLD, GOOD???" Logitech Formula
Force Wheel, Serial conection only NO USB or GAMEPORT and Win 2k.

Thanks,
Bob

No MS only has one set of drivers for it, nothing Win2k specific. The
problem also occurs with Win 98se btw.
