Well, I just wanted  to let you know that I have found (WARNING__SUBJECTIVE
OPINION!) that in using my USB Joystick with GPL it is much better than when
connected throught the game port. I tried it both ways.

More precise, can stay on line, and 4 frames better at start at Spa with 19
cars and all detail on aCeleron OC to 464 and 192 megs ram.

I couldn't beleive it. I broke my regular old Sidewinder while playing F4
and had to run out and get the new stick and decided to get the Precision
Pro with the USB as I had a couple of USB ports doing nothing.

I prefer the level of control with the joystick and I don't have to connect
/disconnect for various games from wheel to stick etc.

Thought somebody might be interested.

Not sure why I get better frames. From 18 to 23 and then right to thirty six
afer the field stretches out and I crash my first time.

I still wish I get GPL to work on line with my Roadrunner cable modem though
:(.... NOTHING shows up in the connect via box....

any thought on that?

Bob

Basically b/c the CPU doesn't have to waste time polling the gameport.

Thanks Darrin!

I had tried that line before .

I think I had some problems with the changes that my providers login
software used. Also I have now disabled the Proxy and that succkr coonects
instantly.

Thansk for the file and I am a happy man!

Was just on VROC and it worked!

See ya on the track!

You have to add a special line to the core.ini file.
Check out http://gpl.gamestats.com/vroc for cable core.ini.

Or even easier -- read the readme file in the GPL folder.

Have you tried the "alternate_ip_addr_lookup" thingy from the readme.txt?
That usually does the trick.
