TM ACM card info needed

by Mike Hemb » Fri, 19 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I have been given a TM ACM game card (Rev 3.4) but got
no documentation or software with it so I was hoping
someone who has a similar card could answer the
following questions:

1) What are the two sets of jumpers for and what
   exactly are their settings?

2) What is the jack socket between the ports for?
   If it's a trimmer, do you use it and what value
   of pot is reqd?

3) Is there any software that came with it thats useful
   in dos/win95 for diagnostic/calibration purposes?
   I have already got propanel.

Thanks to anyone who has this info

Mike

J3 selects the I/O address.  Position 1 is the default 201-201.
2 = 203 3 = 205 4 = 207  (I think this is for the first 2 ports).

J4 should be for the second ports (which most games do not recognize).
1 = 209 (default) 2 = 20B 3 = 20D 4= 20F

This is a "trimmer".   I do not know the value of the pot.  This is used
to calibrate the speed of the ACM for your computer bus/CPU.  It is
required to be plugged in to maintain the calibration.  I would assume
you could experiment and plug in a pot and see what happens.  For what's
it's worth, the dial goes from 1-10 (though I really wish it went to 11
like the amps Spinal Tap have <G>).

The 2 programs that you may find useful are gampeport.exe (which will
check for enabled gameports on your machine).  The other is TMS.EXE
(TMScope) and is the calibration software (along with some diagnostic
tools).  These and other programs/files can be found at their website.
The direct URL for their files is:

We done Mike.  The trimmer is used to set the hat value to 83, when you
use, tms or tmscope. This is really useless, because win95 provides a way
to set pov hat. I have found that it is usefull in dos games to trim the
wheel when we use a T1. ie: Interstae76 and a T1
