PC Civilian driving simulators

Hi,

Does anyone know of an PC-based civilian driving simulators that are
currently available?  I`ve been doing a bit of browsing but haven`t
found much.  I`m looking for this kind of software just out of
interest.

And no, i`m not going to drive round the GPL tracks at 30mph ;)

cheers,

Ritchie

Sierra used to have a product called 'Driver's Education'.  It came out 2 or
3 years ago, and I can't find it on the Sierra web-site other than in the
Support section.
But here's a link to one that's on sale on e-bay right now.

Yeah, you would rather drive 300mph in New York City, right?  ;-)

A PC-based civilian driving simulator? Sounds interesting, but probably too
boring from the perspective of the game makers, and probably the public at
large too.  Only thing that comes to mind which are really not simulators
are: MS Midtown Madness, which is an ok arcade game and GT's "Driver", which
is also an ok ade game, but the physics in Driver, while not entirely
realistic are actually pretty darn well made.  In my opinion "Driver" feels
a lot more real than MM.  Driving controls are just too "arcady".

Sh*t.  Everyday I slog along home, down city streets in rush-hour traffic.
I'd love to have a way of seeing how fast I *could* take it, if only there
was no one on the streets but me!  :)

Closest thing to that I've driven is Midtown Madness 2 but the traffic AI is
a bit wacky and the physics aren't quite there yet.

There are plenty of AI improvements, mods, and cars. Try
http://www.mm2cars.com  There are many things to not like about mm2 but
there are quite a few things to like about it also :)

Hmmm, sounds good, but the link is bad.  I've just returned from a year-long
break from ras, so apologies for the late reply ;-)
