I'm thinking of spending my Christmas money on a replacement for my gforce 2
ultra
the question is, is it worth spending twice as much on a TI4600 over a
TI4200 considering that my processor is a PIII running at 1.1G?
I know the TI4600 is quicker but if the processor can't keep up then it's a
waste of money.

TIA

I just upgraded from my gf2gts to one of these,
http://www.leadtek.com.tw/www/Web_Leadtek/vga/A280_letdh_myvivo.asp
Very happy with it and since they have good fans on the cards you can o/c it
if you want to up to almost as fast as a 4600. As you say, buying a 4600 for
your system would be a waste of money unless you are thinking of upgrading
the cpu/motherboard as well.
Sid.

Thanks Sid,
My local has the Gainward Golden sample TI4200 board so I think I'll try
that

My system specs: WinXP Pro, 1.4Ghz, 384Mb, Geforce4 Ti4200. I upgraded from
a Geforce2 GTS. The only difference now is that I can play games with FSAA.
In hindsight I wouldn't have upgraded since I don't rate NVidia's FSAA (It's
not a patch on my other system with runs has a Voodoo5) My advice would be
to upgrade you CPU, youll notice a much bigger difference there.
