Bruce the Tourcar patch adds some classes, but you still need to change the
class are in the Veh file.  I did that and have both cars now in my V8
class that is made with the Touring car patch.

Use GTVE to change the class of your existing V8 cars to match the read me
in the Touring Car Patch.

Well Griff site has some other V8 cars and they are good boies of them.  I
do prefer driving the Pits cars against Griff's cars since they are faster.
I truely hope the Aussie V8s are better handling cars then shown here tho,
since they are worse then my Solo ll car.  they do soak up the bumps at
Bathurst rather well.

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

by Dave Henri » Sat, 08 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hey Bruce.  The SP3.0 had about 15 of Last year's Falcon's and Commodores'
with pretty up to date livery.
The HP was down slightly from the new cars so those two Fords will drive
away from the sp3.0 V8's.
Also there are several sites in Europe that are making the
DTM cars.  I'm collecting the links now.
here's one that will get you started, they also have some specific .veh
files that are design to work with the Touring car patch.

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

by Bruce Kennewel » Sun, 09 Jul 2000 04:00:00

What an EXCELLENT job the creator(s) of this new circuit have done. Although
it's a few years now since I last drove around Mount Panorama (before Caltex
Chase was created) the memories came back when driving in SCGT. Well done,
indeed!

All I need now is some helpful advice as to how I go about getting a "fleet"
of V8s to race against.  I downloaded a file that gave me two cars...the
Shell #18 and the Ozemail #21.  However, the #18 car only appears under the
GTQ class and the #21 doesn't show up at all!

What is needed to get more than one car into a Class?  If I use the Falcon
in the GTQ Class it blows the pants off the BMWs and Porsches.  I need
another 15 V8s to race against!

Thank you, Dave.
I haven't contemplated d'loading the SP3.0 pack as it's just way too big for
a 56 modem to handle within my lifetime! HA!!
I tried getting the  half-dozen or so V8 files from IWCCCARS but only one
would download.....the Caterpillar Ford.
However....I shall now zap across to the address that you gave me and see
what's there.............. :-)

Thanks again.

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

by Dave Henri » Sun, 09 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Yer welcome.  I yelled at Vince to update the links.  I'm thinking he's
looking for updated cars before he puts them out.  I haven't tried the dtm
cars yet, just found the link today...so goodluck.
(you might have to edit the .veh files to get them in the proper category
for the Touring patch.
One question.  I can add Bathurst for a single race, but after starting a
V8 career and editing the matrix.mc file, I still don't see the Bathurst
race listed with the other V8 races.  Anyone????

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

ok two things about the matrix.mc  It is for the NORMAL scgt spcar.exe
so any editing you do to that won't affect the Touring car patch.  But there
is a matrix.tc
that is an exact copy, just setup for the Touring car .exe
just use notepade and open matrix.tc and scroll down to the calendars.
the bathurst line should look something like this

file://????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You should notice my V8 season and the bathurst version for DTM has much
much smaller
numbers...those are the minutes per race.  So the default is
3 hours for a short race, 6 hours for a medium race 12 hours for the long
race and 24 hours for the really long race.
mine start at 30 minutes and scale up to 2 hours.
create anther line in any calendar to add Silverstone or any other track
that is available.

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

Thanks again, Dave.
No editing was necessary to get those cars included in the DTM category.
Great cars, incidentally. (certainly less of a frame-rate hog than the
Falcons, too.)
For a fun experience, try the New Beetles!

Incidentally.....what is the 'matrix.mc' file edited with?  I have been
wanting to include Bathurst into the regular Career schedule but didn't have
the faintest idea about how to do it.

SCGT: Bathurst and V8 Cars.

by Bruce Kennewel » Mon, 10 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Thanks heaps, Dave.

One thing I found odd....whilst my matrix.tc file looked okay, my matrix.mc
file was nothing but hieroglyphics and totally unintelligible.  Is that
correct? (It is also only 3 Kb in size as opposed to the matrix.tc file,
which is 23 Kb).

    Trim your posts, gentleman! :)

The matrix.mc file is zipped. Just use Winzip to open and extract it.
Then it'll be 17kb, and editable with Notepad. Once you've completed your
editing, there's no need to re-zip it again.
