GPL track-textures and the cars in real life

Hello,

I just wanted to install the Dark Greens 16-bit textures for all the
original Papyrus-tracks.

Now there is more than one update for Monaco for example. Do I have to
install all of them or should I always only install the biggest file for a
track?

BTW are Dark Greenss the best updates for the original tracks?

After that I want to install the GPLEA-cars.

I am not an expert of Formula 1s sixties so I have some questions about the
cars:

Brabham BT20 and BT24: Were both cars used during 1967?

Ferrari 312 36v and 48v: Whats that, did they use different engines? Cant
imagine that the had 5 valves per cylinder so what? When did they use which
engine or which did they use more often?

What about Honda, did they start the year with the RA273 and then switched
to the 300? Same with the Lotus 43 and 49?

Thanks for any help

Stephan

Can't help much with the rest but 48 valves on a V12 is 4 valves per
cylinder, 36v is 3 per cylinder ;-)

On a slightly related note 'DFV' that powered the Lotus 49 & many later
cars stands for 'Double Four Valve'. A similar technological advancement
in the same era. The BRM H-16 (in the Lotus 43 at least, don't know
about it's other uses) was a 2 valve design. A 4 valve version came
later but iirc it was too complex & unreliable to be competitive.

As with modern motorsport the cars' design was constantly changing,
something that isn't easy to reproduce in gpl, most people just pick the
ones they like the look of I think ;-)

If you want a simple guide to the best addons - start here:

Absolute must - GPLEA are gods :).

Neither am I, but I'll try to answer AFAIK - both Brabhams were used
in 67 - if the factory team (Hulme/Brabham) used both versions, and
when they switched I don't know.

Ferrari had a V12 - how could you *not* know that ;).  I don't know
the answer to which was used when.  I think the 48v was used more
often, but I like the look of the 36v so I run that.

IIRC the 273 was used until Monza, when the RA300 made its debut.  The
Lotus 43 I think only ran at Kyalami.

HTH,
Kendt

You are right of course, I pressed 5 when I wanted the 4 :-)

ok

Yeah very difficult to do and not really necessary I think. Ok, I will
choose by look, too.

Thank you
