Need help with wheel calibration

by ABE » Fri, 04 Apr 2003 12:36:30

Today when I tried to fire up N2003, I was immediately taken to the wheel
calibration menu and was unable to calibrate my wheel (TSW).  The mouse
would barely move through the menu screen and wheel would not calibrate.  I
went to control panel\*** options and found that my former controller
configuration was not listed and when I tried to add a configuration I would
get an error message that my game port drivers were not properly configured
and to please consult device manager.  This has never happened before.  I
don't see any problems flagged in device manager.  Any suggestions on how to
resolve this?  Should I reinstall Windows?  My operating system is W98.

Thanks

Dave Henri

   I wouldn't go that far yet...unless you've had win98 on for over a year.
but you might want to try re-installing your controller software.  Have you
updated directX recently?  that used to be the cause of problems like these
for some users.

I have this sort of happen, what I have to do is just hit ok, then back (not
next), window pops up and discard changes.  Then exit game, reconnect the
USB controller then restart game.  Only have to do this if I reboot, I don't
have to do it again till I reboot.  Im hoping I will get this fixed when I
format, as I am way over due on that, and have gone the "repair install"
route 3 times already.

It is an Abit.

I finally reinstalled windows (after 2 days of messing with it), and now it
is ok.

When that happens to me (if I touch or even just look hard at the mouse when
N2003 is firing up) I usually solve it by changing the joystick driver in
the N2003 Controls Tab. I don't remeber if I change form Generic to Papyrus
or the other way around but it works for me (also have W98 BTW).

Good Luck,

Joao
