I understand there is a big patch available for NFS3. Is there a source for
this that does not involve using that "auto-update" program for patching
through the Internet?

I'd hate to have to download 4MB+ every time I reinstall the game.

Thanks for trying, but this is just a pointer to the autopatch program.
You run this and it uses your dialup to connect to the EA server and
get the patch, then applies it. It works, but is really a pain if you have
to reinstall; you have to sit through a 4MB download each time.

Hmmm. I've had another look around. It looks as though the 4 meg file
did once exist on the EA ftp server
(http://camelot.warzone.com/hs3/hacks5.html) but it's been removed. My
only suggestion would be to have a hack at the autopatch file and look
in it for the file location.
