Hi I was wondering about where I can find the Music from the 1966 Movie
'Grand Prix' I had a record called 'Mystic Moods' and it had the whole 3
minute 42 second opening of the movie music...

It's kind of funny when I mention this but my sister actually told my
family that she was engaged to my soon to be brother-in law just as the
music was starting (right after the opening roar of those engines!)

I think the music was perhaps the createst piece that anyone created...

Any leads???

The music for Grand Prix was created by Maurice Jarre, two time winner of the
Academy Award for Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago.

I have the album, if you'd like a cassette copy, I can burn one for you.

Maurice Jarre? The album I have, "The Exciting Racing Sounds of Grand Prix
Challenge of Champions" (snappy title, I wonder why it didn't get to Number
One?) has the _real_ music from the film. Apart from Phil Hill  interviewing
Graham Hill and John Frankenheimer the whole album consists of the sounds of
various GP cars at Monza, Monaco, Spa and Brands Hatch recorded by Gordon
Daniel who won an Oscar for the "Grand Prix" soundtrack.

No, "Good Vibrations" is the finest piece of music anyone created, this
century anyway.
That and the cheesy music in arcade racer "Outrun"

Sorry but DO NOT Dis the music in Outrun !!!!!!!!

It was a fine piece of art back on the Sega Master system.... ;-)

Actually.. I liked the idea of switching the radio between different music..
great idea IMHO, there was a couple titles with this also... Space Harrier,
Ghost House, etc... !!!

(but nothing beats the Star Wars soundtrack)

I'm not - I bought the record (available in Japan) when I was 9. it was my
second album, after Beasties' "Licensed To Ill" - I downloaded the emulator ROMs
of Out Run and whenever I need to send people into fits of hysterical laughter I
put on "Passing Breeze"

Tucson Coyote Here,

The album that I am looking for is really from an orchestral group called
'Mystic Moods' and the album name is 'Emotions' (I think!)

Really I was wondering if anyone has done any midi music using that theme...
THat would really denote GPL as the topical music....

Just like Star Wars did, or Smokey and the Bandit....

Just some more insight from Tucson Coyote...

P.S. anybody wanna try to create a midi, mod, mp3, or something that can be
played on a computer of that theme??? I think it would be cool!
