Go into TEST mode instead of BASIC , this will allow any
amount of gas to be used.

What good is that if you can't change it in a race though?   I've only
tried "Quick Races" so far, but still can't adjust the fuel level when
I'm IN the race.  Say I have 20 laps left, and just want to pit for a
few gallons.  F3 as the manual states, _SHOULD_ allow for fuel
selection, however it doesn't.

The manual doesn't state that the F3 key allows you to change your fuel
load.  This can only be done in testing mode.  If you're in a race that
has only 20 laps remaining, your crew chief will automatically calculate
the amount of fuel to put in the car- use F3 to keep tabs on it and
you'll see.  Official Nascar rules state that all cars must start
qualifying and racing sessions on a full tank of gas.

Your crew chief will automatically set your fuel load during pit stops to
make the finish without carrying an excess amount of fuel.  You cannot
change the setting.

My manual does?  (page 32)  However, at the bottom it does say about
the crew chief calculating the fuel load.  Apparently I need to RTFM
all the way. <G>

Thanks for the info.

The crew chief automatically determines how much fuel you need to finish
the race. Just pit and trust his judgement.
