gpl--after a week

by buzz » Wed, 04 Jul 2001 03:06:04

Been a week since installed gpl and thrustmaster wheel--have managed to
devote
ONE continuous hour to the game--What a challenge--Have made TWO(2)
continuous
laps around Monza with NO driver aids(advance trainer)---can ya hear me
shout--won't talk about times-I think I'm going fast<BFG>
problems so far
  1. throttle stuttering at high rpm(rev limiter??)
  2. haven't figgerd out how to install direct 3D patch--ya I know follow
the instructions in the readme--reads Greek to me

this is much more fun than watching some of the current F1 races--trouble is
game makes alot of noise in the house at 6am Sun morn

Ah well, no expert has answered so I'll suggest:

1. throttle - change up a gear preferably before the engine blows
2. D3D patch - unzip or extract it to your GPL directory, then rename
core.ini.sample to core.ini
3. Noise - wear headphones, then you won't hear the complaints /
banging on the wall and be put off.

No aids is definitely good - hang on to that, it'll save a lot of pain
later
